Until the 1960s, Enschede was the second largest textile city in Europe after Manchester. The inner city was full of factories and a large part of the working population worked in the textile industry. Nowadays the factory buildings remain of the heyday of the industry. But the city tries to get its name back in the textile industry but with sustainable and locally produced fabrics something that Ace & Tate values highly and wants to enoucarage. The design for the new store for Enschede is inspired by the loom of the weaving machines.
